Try using it in OU. Chances are it's not as great as you thought it was.

Pokemon Tiering is based on usage. Not many people can successfully use Mew and therefor it becomes unpopular and drops to UU. Is Mew good? Certainly. Is it VERY good? No.

How the fuck is Heracross in UU?
It's fucking OU (or BL) material; from stats to movepool.
His dream world ability makes every Pokemon in the UU tier shit in their pants and his STAB Megahorn and Close Combat deal a fucking chunk.
And before you ask, yes I do carry counters for this motherfucker, but I do have to admit, it is a pain in the ass to take them down.

I was suprised when I found out Machamp was UU. I thought you couldn't go wrong with No Guard + Stone Edge/Dynamic Punch. And flying isn't even a common move type in OU.

Compoundeyes is overall better on Heracross. Megahorn and Stone Edge become 100% accurate and doesn't leave Heracross 100% open to Hurricanes.

We're talking about the OU metagame. He's asking why would anyone use Moxie Heracross in the OU metagame when Moxie Salamence is available? You can use Heracross in OU if you want, it just is generally worse than Salamence.

Bastidon Probopass, and Metagng are common in NU, and the former two completely wall Scyther when it doesn't have Brick Break. Bulky Rock types like Golem, Gigalith or Regirock can probably take a couple Bug Bites and OHKO with Rock Blast or Stone Edge too.

There's also Probopass and Bastiodon who are both NU, and rock-types like Golem, Gigalith, Regirock or Rhydon can also take a Bug Bite or two and OHKO with Stone Edge or Rock Blast.

Scyther pretty much needs to carry Brick Break to not get completely walled b Aggron and Steelix, and even then Steelix and others that aren't 4X weak are probably going to live.

Being in a certain tier just means you don't have enough usage to be in the tiers above it, and too much usage/is banned from the tiers below it.

NU Pokemon can be used in every tier [but generally aren't for a variety of reasons/weaknesses, hence its low usage > NU].
Some Pokemon actually do better in higher tiers than in the one they're found in [Eviolite Chansey/Shedinja in Ubers].

Because there's a ton of things it can do, but not much it can do better than other Pokemon. No ridiculously strong STAB moves like Victini, no flinchhax like Jirachi, no specialized stats like Azelf and Uxie and its typing and abilities are mediocre.

It's a great Pokemon, but it's not broken. Most of its value comes from its unpredictability.

Ludicolo's NU and yet it's often seen in Uber since it can stand up to Kyogre.

There's a website called Smogon that divides every Pokemon into tiers, based on how often they're used. OU stands for overused and UU, or underused is the tier below it.

People make a big deal out of Smogon, but their rules are only really mandatory on their Pokemon Showdown and Pokemon Online servers (and not even that if you play by Nintendo's VGC rules). There's nothing stopping you from giving them the finger and using Double Team Moody Bidoof in your wi-fi games.

Very few things in OU can actually 1HKO him. The problem he faces is that outside of choice scarf sets Conkeldurr outclasses almost everything he can possibly do. Why use bulk up Machamp when you can use Conkeldurr who has better bulk/attack and somewhat reliable recovery from drain punch?

Tornadus T is still in OU in PO, I think.
And there was some talk about putting Kyurem-B in UU on there
PO's users are a little retarded sometimes

However their tiers are basically identical to smogon's.

He isn't that great. Yeah 170 attack but terrible attacking moves, little speed, and fragile as fuck to any fighting or dragon moves.

Yeah, he can put dents in things but he really isn't capable of getting more than 1 kill unless you let him play peek a boo with your pokemon by not having rocks up.

He's more powerful than even Victini and Darmanitan, and unlike them he can attack more than once or twice. Great bulk, too. With a Substitute/Roost/Dragon Tail set not even Registeel and Machamp will be much use against him.
