I had one on my team for Black, name was Ecko. Was the first addition to my team after my starter. I love the little guy. Bats are one of my favourite animals, but I always thought that the Zubat line didn't do them justice, although I did like Crobat a lot.
Did you know that it wasn't conclusively shown that bats used echolocation to navigate until the late 1930s? Before then, the possibility that they used psychic powers was a serious consideration. I don't know if Swoobat is based on that principle, but I always thought that psychic type, embodying "extra-sensory" abilities, fit bats a lot better than poison, and I was so happy that Gen V made that pipe dream come true.
