The only starters I haven't used are the ones that I simply could not think of any use for on a practical team that something else obtainable wasn't gonna do way better.

Those are:
Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott.

Well the first 4 gens was basically a thing for me and my brother.

My fave colour is blue, and his is red. He always got the red games and me the blue

(or those that looked more blue / red Gold for example with Ho-oH looked red over Lugia from silver)

I always had water starters and him fire, it was our thing.

He died between gen IV and V so this time round I took a Tepig and named him Nathan after my brother.

Planning on continuing that into X/Y

In conclusion, I have never used any fire starter before gen V. Used grass in all reruns.
Never used Oshawott either

Poor speed and medium defenses on a poor defensive typing still hurts ingame, but he's certainly above the threshold of being *able* to wreck NPCs' shit with support and training. If he were frailer he would probably not even do that well ingame, since he cannot afford to be OHKOed.

I wish they could understand that and have a Beginner, Normal, and Challenging gameplay where either has levels, IVs, moves, and strategies/AIs that adjust according to your gameplay, except for Challenging, which is on a consistent uphill climb. The earlier/faster you play the easier it is. The more you grind (the key is the play time) the harder it is.

Infernape is faster and have a more diverse movepool.

Blaziken have higher ATK and SPA as well as Speed Boost and Hi Jump Kick.

Emboar got the highest HP,which goes well with Reckless so he can fire off recoil moves.

If Fennekin becomes another Fire/Fighting, I wouldn't be too mad, I would believe that it will have SPA,SPD,and SPE. I would rather have a different type however.

It would be a missed opportunity to not have Fennekin evolution be Fire/Psychic. Currently only Victini is Fire/Psychic (excluding Zen mode Darmanitan), some new things would be good for once. Even better if they Chesspin evo as Grass/Dark and Froakie evo as Water/Fighting. Would be an interesting setup.

Biggest disappointments were Infernape (lel have to go to a pokemon center every other battle because the piece of shit couldn't take a hit) and Meganium in Gen 4, which was surprising because I wrecked shit with him in Gen 2.

If you just mean pick as a starter at all, then it's just Emboar. I picked Infernape when I was testing out a Platinum ROM and Empoleon in a Nuzlocke (which I ended up losing).

I've done playthroughs using Tepig and Oshawott, and am currently nearing the end of a Snivy playthrough.
