Why is that every Pokemon spoof, it's always Ash and Pikachu? Do they even play the games after Gen I?

Also what are some examples where the character isn't Ash?

They use Ash because he's been in the main anime since day 1, as well as in pretty much every movie. He's a two-dimensional character with little to no personality; only giving him enough character so the kids can relate to him and see themselves in his position.

In other words, it's easier.

because youtubers want their videos to popular. No one will get rare gen v references or know what dogars means. It's just easier to make fun of, I wanna be the very best! and use Ash as an idiot who doesn't know what he's doing with pikachu.
