I see a huge theme in the Pokemon fandom. Many seemingly separate preferences can all be linked to a single phenomena of evolution, the strong affinity towards neoteny. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoteny)

I find that many particular interests on this board are shared to some extent by the majority of the population. To name a few, we have strong and often sexual preferences for:

>Chubby characters
>large headed characters
>large eyes
>characters in vulnerable and relaxed positions
>Traps and young feminine males
>Childish and child-like females.
>Soft looking bodies whether small or large

This may be because of the largely neotenic features found in many Pokemon and trainers coupled with the rather lighthearted world in which they live. Either way, I would like to know if I am not as observant as I should be or have misrepresented the board based on an error in cause and effect.
