My Blaziken didn't make it due to a critical hit, but the rest of my team made it through.

I want to join up with some Nuzlocking, since I haven't been playing enough Pokémon lately.

I've also been experimenting with capturing and have been debating doing a nuzlocke and uploading it to youtube.

Would anyone be interested in watching? Or would I just be wasting my time?

If so, is commentary a necessity? I'll mostly be playing in between classes, so I can't really provide commentary without a ton of background noise (and most likely people giving me odd looks).

I'm also not really all that inclined to add commentary in post, so what could I do instead? Would just having the game sound be alright?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Commentary is better, but not especially needed. I personally wouldn't mind watching a simple walkthrough, since Nuzlockes always tend to be interesting because you never know what is going to happen.

I did a quick recording with commentary and it's just not right. My laptop mic sucks and picks up the fan as well, and I don't have a portable mic either. I'll probably try out the whole just game sound thing. Maybe just add my thoughts about the session to the more info on youtube.

We'll see how this goes. Probably start the actual runthrough tomorrow.

Alright, so first, if you haven't watched these videos, I suggest you watch at least the last one (against Lance) so you understand what happened.

I finally settled on a new team for my journey to Kanto. Well, when I get there at least. First, I'm going to grind a bit so the newcomers get up to speed, especially Scarhino and Eingana.

My thoughts about the Elite 4... I'm heartbroken, to keep things simple. It's probably my fault for thinking that Buzz couldn't resist Outrage, and that's why I've lost 5 Pokémon so stupidly. I'm especially sad for Ted, Bill and John, I really didn't think I'd lose my starter, especially not against Lance... And for Bill and John, they followed me through almost all of Johto, so they were as precious as Ted to me. Can't say much for Alfred and Twitch because they were mostly here because I needed something else for my team, but I miss them too, they proved to be quite useful... Rest in peace all of you, I'll make sure to get through Kanto for you all.

The battle against roxanne was breathtaking though, I had her down to that fucking nosepass had used my poocheyena, lassie to lower its accuracy to shit, so it couldn't hit for shit, barely did shit to her because no more SE moves, she eventually got me down to wormple, I poisoned her, and I tried waiting out the poison, but bitch kept using potions, and wurmple couldn't last.

Reika (Scrafty), oh my god. She swept Grimsley and Caitlyn. BY HERSELF! Oh my god I've never been attracted to a pokemon before but this fucking scrafty.. muh dick.

Melodie (ampharos). Level 5-79 and still kicking. She started us off by claiming first blood in the league, killing sableeye through confusion and while holding the trick'd lagging tail.

Haxine (Haxorus) managed to sweep Marshall almost all by herself, and finished off Shauntal after golurk came out to scare off melodie. She fell to a 1 hp, salac berry, Reversal from Sawk. REST IN PIECE.

Max (snorlax) took up the mantle of anti-dragon king when Haxine died. His SDef and bulk and ice punch were too much for Iris's special based dragons.

Russel (Gliscor) Made up the difference when the physical guys came to town in Iris's team, literally 2hko'ing both haxorus and dragonite with a boosted Ice Fang. DAT POISON HEAL/TOXIC ORB

Tentomon (tentacruel), the backup pokemon, and the evolved form of a pile of shit. JUST KIDDING, I'm sure if I had needed you, you would have come through for me.

I'm actually doing a "nuzlocke" of Awakening with no resets. Been playing Hard Classic with a few additional rules (only trade items between B supports, marriages are planned before, if a side of a couple dies before the kid is recruited they cannot be recruited at all). Only on Chapter 6, but no deaths so far!

Well I have really no Fire types for Gardenia in Platinum. I did catch a Zubat but he hasn't been trained- and I just caught a Meditite and a Chingling. I already am using a Machop though. Chingling is adorable but certainly not very strong.
Should I be worried for Gardenia since my only team member with a super-effective move is Prinplup using Pluck?
My team is levelled to 22 since her Roserade is that level- Luxio, Prinplup, Buneary, Machop, Budew.

Yeah she's Grass, but Roserade is half Poison.
Wish I had gotten a Ponyta or Starly somewhere but no luck.
Maybe I will train up Chingling then. I like using Machop too much to have a second Fighting type around right now.

I almost had a serious issue with Gardenia. Chingling couldn't keep up- so I switched my Budew in and started using Growth after I was paralzed by Gardenia's Roserade.
It couldn't poison me after that, and Poison Sting did not hurt me much.

Just had a hard battle against Roxie. She started with a Lugia that almost took out my Deino. Thank goodness my Ivysaur Guy poisoned it and then leechseeded it. That and Lucky he Dunsparce's huge amount of health. I just lasted long enough for the poison and leechseed to take it down. Her second pokemon Ledian was a push over. That was the most intense gym battle I have ever had.

It's pretty hard, but i'd say it's never unfair.
not like Volt white Challenge mode.
That game is just plain unfair sometimes for nuzlockes.
I'd say it's about as hard as platinum, which is commonly agreed to be the hardest of the main games to nuzlocke.

Okay, so I'm doing a Crystak Nuzlocke.

My team is: Quilava, Golbat, Graveler, Quagsire, Drowzee and Pinsir (yeah, I got real lucky in the Bug Catching Contest).

Box: Spearow, Pidgey, Aipom, Marril, Sudowoodo, Gastly, Poliwag, Sentret, Unown, Togepi, Slowpoke, EkansSmoochum, Psyduck, Spinarak, Eevee

Right now I'm grinding for Morty.

What do you think about my team? Should I do a reshuffle or is it fine as it is?

What about Eevee, what should I evolve it into? I realized yesterday that I can't use Ampharos in Crystal, but I can't stand Jolteon. I had one in FireRed and it was useless. What Electric-types will be available later on?

Started my FR Omega run today, just beat Brock. Since I was doing it blind I was laughably overlevelled for his Pokemon, but better over than under I suppose.

Current party:
>Dizoolexa the Mankey - Lv 20
>Pegmode the Nidorina - Lv 18
>Replitz the Elekid - Lv 18
>Mizule the Staryu - Lv 17
>Sepezz the Combusken - Lv 16
>Skizze the Poochyena - Lv 12 Derpshit

Pretty happy with it except for Skizze, but I can't bring myself to use another one of the Gift Starters instead of it, and have only a Togepi, Metapod, Nosepass and Mareep. Thinking of cutting Skezze for the Nosepass, but might wait to see what I get in Mt Moon.

Also, apparently if you talk to Oak at the beginning (when you choose your starter) he'll bring you to an area where you can catch your own from the following:
