Zexal, like Unova, is like a reboot of the series, with elements of past generations worked into it.
B2/W2 are amazing compared to Red and Blue.
Likewise, Zexal is far better than the original Yugioh.
Take the new opening as an example. It looks like a legitimate anime, rather than a cartoon about trading cards.

The card game has evolved into a shitty metagame of "who can use up their entire deck first". Unlike Pokemon, where you can easily enter the metagame by doing what the champs do, you must spend a good amount of cash to be any good. But traditional dueling with a cheap deck is hella fun.
