What tier and format is the best to get into srs battling?

Most of my favorites I've found to be in UU, but that seems pretty high up. Is NU best? From what I've seen in some battles it's all Whimsicott Alomomola Amoonguss Golurk everywhere.

RU is pretty cool. I use to play UU but once you get up a few points you start going against the same repeated strategies. It's kinda boring to me.
But if you like making strategies, with Trick Room/Weather/whatever it's cool too. I got in UU for the same reason as you, my best bros are in there.

Start in UU, it still has a lot of players and if it has your favorites then why not? Bear in mind all your favorites might not make for a cohesive team though. NU is heavily centralized, as is OU.

I've never watched any RU but I know Blaistoise is in there which is neat.
Do most people do singles or doubles?

Blastoise is actually UU, unless it changed really recently. its almost all singles and is very fun.

I personally like UU and it is nice starting point for competitive. It is (very) centralized and isn't infected by weather wars, so you can easily learn which threats are the most important to prepare for and it lets you learn easily how to play competitive.

Some Pokemon stand tall while the others fall. Unlike OU, UU doesn't have THAT many powerhouses: it is restricted to few of them, which makes teambuilding easier. Use some of the best Pokemon and make sure to have ways to beat the best Pokemon.

Ex:
>the most dangerous Pokemon are Mienshao, Raikou, Kingdra, Snorlax, Togekiss and Zapdos
>it is a good idea to pack at least one of those Pokemon if you want reliable ways of winning
>you must make sure while teambuilding to be able to take on EVERY SINGLE ONE of those Pokemon

Of course, that doesn't force you to use those Pokemon, but it forces you to prepare for them at all time. Great way to learn what's good and what's bad.

Centralized means there's a certain type of teams/certain pokemon that everyone uses

Uber: Kyogre
OU: Weather
UU: Heracross

I don't really play other tiers so I'm not sure what centralizes RU, NU and LC. however I know LC (little cup) is hyper centralized around 6 pokes which happen to fit together perfectly on one team.
As to what they are, shit man I have no idea

as someone who exclusively plays NU its basically centralized around psychic and fighting types, especially Primeape, Sawk, Jynx and Musharna. That said if you can put something on your team to deal with them, like Skuntank and Alomomola for fighting types which is in my opinion the best physical wall in the tier you've got 4 slots left to play with. Despite this I'd say NU is probably the best tier from my experience as OU is weather, Ubers is Kyogre and Arceus-Normal, UU is somewhat stally and RU is, from the 10 or so games I've had, basically UU but with Cosmic Power Sigilyph and Hail everywhere.
