I could really see the new female Protag. taking up a personal duty to stop the new enemy Team (which, of course, would have to be allied with Team Rocket, as per usual). My hope is that the new girl is sort of one of those Swiss Army Knife people. Like one of those people that's just knowledgeable and a smooth talker that know how to do most things, and if they can't, sure as hell figure out how to. I would also suggest that there's a personal reason for her wanting to stop the new evil team. Sort of like how Hugh wants to go apeshit on Team Plasma, but far more developed. Like one of those things she doesn't want to talk about, but if the group is having a downer moment, she'll stand up and give a rousing speech from the heart that makes it impossible for anyone to feel defeated anymore.
Honestly if they would put in a really likeable female protag. like that in the anime and AT LEAST let Ash age to 12 (c'mon, anime writers, throw us a bone), I could guarentee that they'd immediately get back most, if not all, of the fans they lost because of the Sinnoh and some of the Unova Saga.
