Pokemon will always be for me, the franchise that could've had the most epic, intricate and comprehensive storyline ever but failed to do so because of the shitty target audience and the storyline per episode framework.
I wish a subseries started (even if it was fanmade) that took it from the top and made it awesome.
So theres a war...
All of Kanto's men are shipped out to fight.
A teenage boy wishes to see his dad once more, but unfortunately cant due to a tragic passing. The boy left to be the leading man of the house and care for his siblings develops a love for ground and rock type pokemon and seeks to get the correct pokemon licences to set up his own gym and support his family. This young man is Brock.
3 sisters, notorious for their glamour and astounding looks are surprised and somewhat regretful when their half sister is forced to live with them. A ginger with a fiesty, tomboyish attitude fights hard to win over her new sisters. Conforming to their love of water shows and water pokemon. And as she tries harder and harder to win them over she remains cold shouldered with only her handful of watery pokemon by her side.
A university graduate who had been travelling for academic research returns to his hometown. Unaware of the war going on. He wishes to fight alongside the men of his town but his community ushers him to fight from another angle. His academic expertise and kind-hearted nature cannot be risked in the heat of war. Insistent on doing everything he can he focuses his efforts on rearing the new youth of the day to become pokemon warriors who can defend the land if ever the need arises. After years of work he develops a breakthrough in technology and completes the PokeDex. A device that will be of unlimited value to those traversing the pokemon journey.
A woman. Left by her husband who must go fight in the war is finding difficulty rearing her 5 7 yr old son, Red. A reserved and troubled young boy who only finds companionship in the pokemon...
