Sylveon's border looks kind of like a wing. That really makes it seem like it's bug or fairy to me, even though I don't like the idea of either of those.

All I know is that if this whole fairy type thing comes true, they at least better retcon Clefairy/Chansey/etc into being that type.

They all have a background that has something to do with their typing. The Sylveon background looks like a fairy wing. I'm sure it's light(fairy is a subtype) type, also with the new gif of Sylveon it's clear it's a new type.
