For whatever reason people really crave a nice, big place to discuss that stuff and share with one another. /b/ slowly opened up to allow "some" of it over the years. There's a pretty frequent furry general now. I can see that stuff slowly becoming more acceptable and one day being postable without getting your thread nuked. It all just depends how much interest there is for it, how the people with said interest handle making that known,
not spamming furry porn or cropped suggestive on safe for work boards and how open Moot and the mod team are to finally allowing such an old policy that's practically a staple of 4chan to finally lapse. Generally the board's community has a say in it as well, which is probably the only reason that stuff is still banned from /d/.
Honestly, I think /d/ is just afraid that hardcore bias as fuck furrys will move in and take over the board completely, shitting all over the other strange fetishes since oddly enough many furrys seem to be quite close-minded when it comes to things outside their spectrum. We have a hard time just keeping the /b/ Pokemon threads civil, because there's always a guy or two complaining about a trainer being posted or not enough gay porn.
