Nope, she had a Seadra that rocked my shit instead.

Scorched Earth run. Just beat "Terry". Lost Skitty. On my way to Mt. Moon. Quasar the Venonat just learned Confusion, which will help in the next Gym (Poison).

is fishing allowed? would you consider fishing different from surfing thous getting more than 1 pokemon in a route?
I do, because different pokemons come from fishing and from surfing.
rocksmash/ headbutt, do they count?
I don't count them for the same reason
Water and grass in the same route, two pokemons?
different layer places, like mt moon where you can't catch a paras in floor 1 but can catch it in 2, does it count?

and in general, should a nuzlocke run allow you to capture pokemons you can get on a normal run?

This. I had a Foretress in a Nuzlocke before.

I named him "Edwards" because that's the surname of one of my friends who loves (and kind of resembles, actually) Foretress. Not as good as Scizor but he's still cool.

Alright, this is the last stretch. After that last bit of grinding, I'll be facing Red. I'm kinda excited for that moment, I'll be honest. The training will take some time but I know it'll be worth it. And I know I'd get my ass kicked if I went there with my team of level 55 Pokémon.

I tossed a "No Slowpoke line" rule into my Silver nuzlocke because I'd used a Slowpoke in every other Gen 2 run I did and I wanted some variety.

I've been away for a few days, so I had some time to grind and get badges! Barely got past Chuck, with Dynamo surviving with 1 hp (and evolving after the battle) and Samehada surviving with 3 hp.

And with this, my Nuzlocke of SoulSilver finally ends. Kind of a one-sided battle, I didn't expect it to be so easy to be honest.

I'm sad to be done with it, I was having lots of fun playing through the game, even if some moments were really difficult to deal with... Overall it was a great experience and I can't wait to do it again with another game.

hey, you're entitled to your own nuzlocke.
you can play it however you want if it's within the basic rules.
but 9/10 people would call it a way of making the game easier, since they are generally stronger than other pokemon.
The original comic that started the nuzlocke itself said no legendaries, but people consider the comic to be a guideline, rather than explicit rules.
Of course, this is all dropped if you randomized BST's, but if you haven't, then read above.

The original Nuzlocke comic didn't say anything about not catching legendaries. If you're referring to the fight with Groudon when he said it would be against the rules to catch him, I believe that's just because he encountered something in the cave before him.

And in his FireRed run he set out to KO all the birds and Mewtwo because it fit into his story, and because he just thought it would be cool. He also had his Charizard fight his rival's Blastoise just because it would be awesome in the story. Neither is an official rule to Nuzlockes, and if people choose to play without catching legendaries, then that's up to them.

I got a Deoxys as my starter in a Black Randomlocke and all the bitch knew was Wrap and I think Night Shade. With its piss-poor defenses, it died to some random encounter before I got anywhere.

With that deoxys, I believe that's why you should never count on early level legendaries, unless you randomized moves by type. but if you did that, the game becomes babby mode.

It seems like a good lesson to never use legendaries.

Pretty much just those 6. It is a nuzlocke in the sense that faint = death and that I can only catch the first encounter on a route, but I have additional restrictions:

1. I can only catch the first encounter if it is 100% certain that the first encounter will be that encounter.
2. I can only catch the first encounter if it is 100% certain that I will catch it.

This leads to a state where the only wild pokemon I can catch is Magikarp or Tentacool, as Old Rod and Surfing have the 100% encounter requirements, but I can only catch one, because the 100% catch requirement means I have to use a Master Ball.

The others have to be obtained from gifts in-game, and fortunately are all in areas where I don't encounter other pokemon in the area, so they can count as my first catch for the area.

I'm going to try a Collosseum nuzlocke at some point. I'm thinking of utilizing the AR code that allows you to snag any pokemon, that way I can utilize the "first pokemon in each area" rule. Maybe allow one regular catch and one shadow catch per area? Not sure but adding the "rocket" mode would make it more interesting and doable

I haven't got a single badge yet, sitting in Jubilife town training before my battle with Barry.
I currently have lvl 14 dratini(Sayuka), lvl 10 Magikarp(Karp Diem), lvl 13 Piplup(Gunter) and lvl 17 luxio(Pao-Lin) What do you guys think?

Update time!

Along with a bunch of uninteresting stuff like teaching Quagsire Water Pulse and Brick Break (he has some awesome type-coverage now) and Cyndaquil (who is still a Cyndaquil, yeah. Might evolve her after I get the 4th badge - Might.) now knows Aerial Ace.

Only bad thing about Shakespear is his moveset. It's kind of shitty. I mean, I just got him, but still. It's horrid. Quick Attack/Secret Power/Sand-Attack/Poison Sting. I hope I can evolve him - There are Gen IV/V mons in this hack, so who knows.

I'm doing pretty well. 2 deaths at the 3rd badge is a record for me. It was all just luck that the Gym Leaders had types I could easily sweep through though. Curious to see what Erika's placeholder uses (I hope it's not Water-type, my team isn't prepared for that at all).

An streamers here? What software and website do you use?

My desmume fluctuates between 50 and 60 FPS, will that result in anything watchable?

No, it needs to be at least 200 fps. Preferably more around the 333 mark.

Your fps while streaming will be between 10% and 25% of normal. So if you're getting 60, you should expect 10 while streaming.

Beatrice died. Against a Sunflora, of all things. Elemental weakness to Grass + Growth + Razor Leaf + Crit took her down. I'm pretty bummed. I hadn't lost a Pokemon that had been with me for more than a few areas since the first Gym fight.

So now I have to decide who to add to my roster. Was thinking Swablu, but Cubone would make more sense (Ground type for a Ground type).

Quasar is also getting really difficult to train, but she's so close to evolving (1 more level).

Also evolved my Cyndaquil. Not necessarily by choice (got distracted after a battle & forgot to press B) but it's a welcome change.
