what are your thoughts on alternate evolutions/evolutions methods?
personally, i love them. they add more individuality to the pokemon. one thing that does piss me off is all of the different items needed to trigger the evolution, and some of the ways you need to evolve them.

most of the item evolutions you will only find/need once. does a pokemon like belossom really need it's own individual stone? can't it just use a leaf stone? and if you are going to make item evolutions, at least make them make more sense. why does politoed need a kings rock to evolve? it's design doesn't really scream out "royalty"

i think that we can all agree that trading based evolutions only made sense in the gameboy generations. nowadays, that type of stuff is irrelevant as it was just a gimmick to help sell the link cable.

if there are going to be more special evos in X/Y, give us more like tyrouges or Umbreon/Espeon. just something a bit more creative, but still fairly easy to achieve, to make that evolution special

well, that's what i think of some of the alternate methods. what do you think?
