OK, can someone hold my hand like a child an help me understand breeding in silver/gold? I have a few questions.

I just got the eevee from Bill. It is level 20 and a female. I want to breed a baby eevee.

1. What pokemon are breedable with an eevee since I'm willing to bet that it won't screw an Weedle.

2. Do eggs take after the mother or the father?

3. If they take after the father, am I totally screwed until I can get a ditto or is there another way to get a baby eevee?

Pokemon in the same egg groups or ditto are breedable. You can either look up which ones are or put 2 in the daycare. If the man outside says they prefer to play with other pokemon then they wont breed.

Eggs take after the mother but moves take after the father which is how you get egg moves on pokemon. ex: a Bagon with hydro pump

Anything in the ground egg group (or Ditto) will breed with Eevee. IIRC, in GSC, pokemon in the same egg group will have the same menu sprite.

They always take after the mother (unless it's a Ditto, then it will take after the other pokemon), although they can learn special moves from the father (google egg moves for more information)

You don't know need to worry about it.

The father's move's thing is news to me.

Is there a list somewhere for what moves it can learn from certain fathers? And can it learn moves that the father doesn't know just because of who the father is?

Theres ditto in routes 34 and 35 if that helps. You should be able to get there by the time you have eevee and the daycare center.

That gives a brief explanation. Each pokemon has all the egg moves it can learn listed on it's bulbapedia/serebii page.

Yeah, look up eevee on bulbapedia. It tells you everything. Just make sure you click "Gen II" at the top of the move list.

There are Ditto on route 34, I think they were put there to encourage breeding
