Doesn't that depend wholly on what pokemon are available in Gen VI?

If there's no equivalent of Chargestone Cave in Gen VI, Magnezone.

If there are no scythers, Scizor

Etc.

Simple. I buy X and Y on launch. Transfer Pokemon 1 from HG to X, then trade to Y, start a new game on X. Transfer Pokemon 2 from HG to X, then trade to Y, start a new game on X. Repeat until all the Pokemon I want are resting safely on Y. Then I play though the main story of X, transfer all my bros from Y to X, beat X's postgame, start a new game on Y and then beat Y.

I have two DSes and two Gen V games. If I were to get 2 Gen VI games, I can transfer every Pokemon I own thanks to trading and resetting games.

Suppose the game adds a flag to a pokemon upon being transferred forward a generation, and the game will only allow one past-flagged pokemon to exist on it at a time, no matter how it is being traded to it.
