The Dex entry doesn't mention that.
For all we know, if it was really a possessed doll, it could be still searching for the bitch who threw it away.
Plus, the damn thing evolves from Shuppet, which isn't a possessed doll, furthering my belief that the stories in the dex are myth.

But if you evolve it from a Shuppet, it has nothing to look for, and no doll to possess
And this dex entry implies that all Banettes are looking for their owner.
Which doesn't exist if you hatch it/ catch a shuppet.
