The fact that people include pokemon like Donphan in their teams just so they can use a 20 BP move, even though they are outclassed a lot by other pokemon (Hippowdon in this case), shows that SR centralizes the game, IMO. I'd be interested in seeing that team, though.

Pokemon 4x weak to SR still appear even in OU tiers, because the Pokemon don't get used which are weak to stealth rock don't get used because they suck. Also the creation of tiers is what keeps the metagame from being centralized, it's pretty obvious you don't really know what you're talking about.

Why wouldn't they? It's not like spinners and taunters and magic bouncers don't exist and it's easily counterable by applying pressure on your opponent like by not spamming giga drain on a Ferrothorn while he sets up hazards and oh god people complaining about SR are retarded.

People run Donphan on teams that rely on Pokemon who are threatened by stealth rock. No one would use it on some other team. People don't do this because Stealth Rock is also lol2gud, but because otherwise they're too weak to SR. There are plenty of great teams that don't worry about SR, but you can't ignore that it's a threat, otherwise you just want the metagame to change to match your inability to think about the game.

That's exactly the problem. You want to use a flying type? Too bad, you have to include a weak pokemon, switch it in, and use a 20 BP move (that can easily be blocked by some very good pokemon, BTW), just to be able to get the flying type in safely.

If there was some downside to SR, or more ways to get rid of it, I wouldn't care, but there isn't.

spinners drop a down in usage
spinblockers are no longer needed as much so ghosts lose footing
normal, fighting, psychic, and bug get a buff as a result
flying fire bug and ice types raise in usage since they are no longer checked

I've run a TR team for so long, and SR has never been a trouble to me. I don't even use a spiner, and I find toxic spikes more troublesome

I'd have less of a problem with Stealth Rocks if:

The problem is that the only counters to it (Magic Bounce and Rapid Spin) are limited to a pathetically small number of pokemon.

While stealth rock is annoying as fuck and there should be more counters for it, it's not such a big deal.
Saying that it doesn't centralize the metagame is silly though.
