Where is this assumption even coming from.

Competitivefags know fighting, dragon, and steel are broken as fuck. Being ice type only hurts you unless you have some gimmick like Cloyster. Everyone knows not to use poison attacks because they're so shitty.

How would this possibly not even touch any of that which needs a fuckton of fixing.

As much as I hate the idea, I would prefer a light type over a fairy type. It just sounds better.

When I hear fairy type I think of a small little glittery person with bug wings with a wand. Doesn't sound Pokemon at all.

Actually dragon type isn't really broken, either, the problem is that there are a fuckload of really powerful mons who happen to have dragon typing.

That said, fighting DOES need an offensive debuff and poison and ice need some decent resists/immunities.

Fairy will resist dragon, ground and be immune to dark.
It will be super effective against dark, dragon, and ground.
It will be weak to poison, rock, and ghost.
Ghost, rock, and poison will resist it.

It's not broken. It's just defensively powerful. Nobody ever won running 4 steel mons on a team; can you say that about dragon or fighting? People win without using ANY steel-type mons or attacks; can that be said about ground? No steel-type non-legendary has ever been banned to ubers for being centralizing; can you say that about ground, fighting or fire?

No, Normal makes perfect sense. Some Pokemon are just, well, normal.

Fighting is also pretty arbitrary. Admit it, you'd never suspect shit like Breloom, Heracross, or the musketeers of having the type if only shown their designs first.

Dark is mostly physical now, though. Unless they introduce a bunch more special Dark moves to tip the balance, you'll still have more physically-oriented types than special ones even if Fairy is mostly special.
