Also, my vote goes for Sinnoh. I like most of gen I badges, but the first 4 badges of gen IV may be my favorite badges of all time. BW ones are atrocitous.

I disagree.

The design is subtle, yet retains a classy badge feel, unlike the ugly Hoenn ones [Brawly's badge is probably the worst badge designed so far]. Hoenn's badges looks like they're made of cheap plastic, nothing decorative or commemorative about it.
Sinnoh's are thematically similar, and one of two sets I would actually wear in a normal setting [second place goes to Kanto].

Unova comes close to thematic harmony and design, but just falls short for several badges that makes the overall set meh. If you replaced Skyla's badge with Brycen's badge, BW2 would join Sinnoh and Kanto as legitimate badges.

I like Sinnoh's, followed by Unova's. I just like how both of them are uniform with the silver/grey and gold outlines respectively. I don't like the elongated shape of the Unova ones as much as the more square ones of Sinnoh though.

The rainbow badge is my single favourite badge though.

Yeah after using badges shaped like a drop of water and a generic flame you would have to get more creative to make something unique.
Not really bashing the originals, but there's only so many ways to make a Water type badge without getting a little complex or abstract.

Kanto Badges are kinda bland but they get a pass for being the first badges.

I actually really like the Unova Badges. They have a uniformness in theme that makes it obvious they come from the same region while retaining a uniqueness. And it's got a better Dragon badge than Johto.

Personally like Gen I and Gen II the most. I think Gen III is a weird mix between I and IV. And IV is just ugly. Unova is looking better, though.
