What if Gen VI had 16 gyms instead of 8, and Elite Four consists of 4 fellows who use different strategies instead of types. Those member also have multiple preset teams so you can't pick pokemon that are strong against them, because the computer picks another preset team for every member every time the player retries the E4. The same would apply to Champion.
The only missing type for gyms would be Dark
