>>12089396I never said it was a bad story, but I think it gets hailed as being fantastic and even a masterpiece a bit too often.
I can definitely see why people like it that much though as it's honestly the first story that the pokemon franchise got that was actually pretty good, so when it came out, it had absolutely no competition from anything in the franchise (except maybe the manga, don't know a thing about it)
In the end, for me it was only great by pokemon standards, not great by stories in games in general, which I felt the story in Gates to Infinity was due to a far stronger cast of characters.
