Also, if you're going for a desert/mountain theme... add some colors, like green cacti for desert and something relevant for mountain... add a view, too... like w2/b2 did with Asbergers city.

Sorry forgot to add context.

The town which is yet to be named will be placed in the top of the region which is akin to Orre.

Your dad/brother (haven't deiced which) is an assistant to Prof. Tree. Your rival, Shitler, lives in the town because his dad is the professor.

The lab is in the town because the professor just likes to be in the mountain and there will be backstory that I'm not going to spoil.

There should be a small bit of path in front of the house in the top left

Just because it's a mountain doesn't mean you can't make it interesting. I'd need to know the story behind your hack in order to judge, but I think you could probably have a strength path somewhere that leads to an item, or maybe even have a cave you can get to blocked by an NPC until you beat a few gym leaders.

Main issue is that it needs a boundry/border, like how all the areas in game have forest/are in a valley or are surrounded by water. For a mountaintop, with the added grass you've got, some trees would work.

The houses are to big for you little starting town. The colour is also an issue. Some red houses would match the dessert/mountain better. The laboratory looks ok.
