I honestly don't care for this one, particularly in Japan. It reeks of post-eva. Mewtwo was cool, though.
>2
I hated this one as a kid, but re-watching it this is the only one that really feels like it's about Ash more than what's going on around him.
>3
The last of Takeshi Shudou's films. This is another one I really don't care for.
>4
The one that spawned the awful "small legendary acts cute" movies. Fuck it.
>5
I liked this one, but don't like the fact that it set the precedent for the elaborate, out-of-place setpieces that the ones after this like so much.
>6
Like Celebi, but without the few interesting parts.
>7
The parts where they're taking shelter are amazing. The kid is not.
>8
Nothing against this one.
>9
This one is fun to watch in a group due to how crazy it gets near the end. The middle is boring, though.
>10-12
These three are all really dry.

This is my favorite. No sitting around showing the audience what a "neat" place the town of the film is. No giant legendary that goes crazy for a while, then gets calmed down. No sitting around trying to show us how cute Zoura is. I think that if the first three hadn't established that all Pokemon movies need to be big, epic adventures, we'd have gotten more like this. The threat is small, so Ash can actually help deal with it for once. Normally they need to add some kind of temple with a switch in it or something so that Ash can help indirectly.

Fuck this shit

Not bad, just pointless
