From what I gathered, she or a family member was afflicted by Darkrai's bad dreams, but Cresselia's Lunar Wing was able to end them.

i'm assuming that her nightmares lasted so long because of darkrai, and she didnt get a lunar wing in time, so she eventually wasted away

I think its the family from D/P/PT that moved from Sinnoh to Unova to prevent anymore bad dreams from happening by Darkrai after the player gave them the Lunar Wing to them, but in the end they found out it wasnt Darkrai's fault sense he was giving the kid the horrible dreams to keep her/him inside and away from the Hypno that was stalking the city at the time while the family & player didnt know about it. after they moved to Lentimas Town the family gave the kid a Abra to play with but during the night the Hypno finally found where they were and kill them all and did what ever horrible thing it does to little lolis...and takes their life after their sick job is done.

It was a ghost. When you went on Marvelous bridge, there was a girl there but the moment you got close to her she disappeared. An old lady says that a girl and her pet Abra "used to" play there a lot.
