The box is a storage unit for a Pokéball, and a Pokéball is a dark, cold, uncomfortable sphere of metal and suffering where the Pokémon inside has no stimuli of any kind. It can't hear, see, or feel, and whenever its released, it fights as hard as it can, because it believes I'll let it enjoy a few extra moment of precious freedom.
