That said, the only gen I really didn't like was gen 3. What I hated about it mostly was that it took so much of the cool in-game stuff away, the internal clock with all the daily/weekly events mainly. That said, it brought a lot of stuff (revamped IVs/EVs, natures, abilities etc.) that I didn't care for originally, but grew to love with my entrance to the competitive side of pokemon.
But god damn, how hard could it be to keep the internal watch?
Gen 1 was amazing at the time, since it was all brand new. I ate it all up, with the TV-series, the cards and the lot. Gen 2 was even better, with the colours, the day/night system, the cool new pokemon, the new and old region, the items, the lot.
Gen four was awesome, including Diamond and Pearl. It had the best starters as well.
Gen five was meh first time around, but I'm really liking W2 right now. The only downside are the fucking retarded starters.
