This shit right here. I tried it during a recent SS run and was still having to use Acid as my main attacking move at Pryces gym, it just never seemed to learn anything decent. Fuck Victreebell.

I used it one time and it left a bad impression on me. It wasn't good on either side of its types.

Made me realizes that If I want Psychic, Then Reiunclus/Gothitelle or Sigiyph.

For Flying, Archeops and Braviary then.

I have a great Victreebel; it's stats are pretty solid, especially with Sunny Day in play (due to Chlorophyll).

I do agree, though, that its natural movepool is pretty lacking. Although later generations give it Leaf Blade, Leaf Storm, etc., prior to Generations IV and V, it seemed like all you'd get is Razor Leaf. And there was zero Poison STAB aside from Acid, too.

Seriously? Victreebell was a great bro for me in LeafGreen.

Anyway, the only Pokemon I had on my main team that really disappointed me was Patrat. I was giving it a chance on the team while I waited to find some new members, but the damn thing just couldn't take a hit to save its life.

Really? I used one in my first W2 run and she was pretty good, overall. Didn't have any problems at all. It was my first time using Flygon, too. I don't generally use Ground types at all.

Galvantula was rather disappointing to me. I expected it to be better, since Gen V's bug types are all pretty good. But it's too frail and not particularly strong to compensate.

Also Boldore. Thing can't take a hit at all and it's too freaking slow to do anything before it gets it's ass handed to it.

I don't know, I wanted to give it a chance. Rattata treated me ok as one of my first Pokemon in Kanto games while I waited for new Pokemon to put on the team, but Patrat was just pitiful. Rattata could at least put up a fight.

This is a perfectly valid complaint.

In my first run of BW, I caught a whole bunch of Joltiks so I could get a Compound Eyes + Jolly/Modest [ended up with Jolly].

Yes, more accurate Thunders were nice, but it's really the only thing it has. Can't take a hit, and doesn't do much damage.

It's just fast with 91% Thunders.

Umbreon. Fuck you Umbreonfags but single player Umbreon is garbage. Used one in W2 and its only STAB move worth shit was bite. Toxic and Moonlight arent the best in single player so its just a straggler to my team.
I also find Grass starters save for Gen 3 Sceptile and in some cases Venusaur to be absolute waste.

I also taught mine snarl to disarm sp.attackers and quick attack to compensate for its shit speed. Seriously, you must just really suck at this game.

Shit was disappointing when I first got it in Diamond, and it's still useless now.

Then again, Physical electric pokemon got the short end of the stick except Zekrom.

Soon as I could I picked up 3 evee's and started making the bitches happy. My plan was to have 3 bastard line up with a espeon a umbreon and a gengar. I get all three EV'd up and into level 40 ready to kick ass and what happens? The Gengar is holding his own. The Espeon is a rape machine and the Umbreon.....weeeeelllll he can take a hit usually. But even with move trained foul play he's just not sweeping like gengar and espeon. I'm sure somebody will point out where I fucked up but I just dont get why the umbreon cant keep up with the espeon.

I also pack Emboar, Magnezone and lapras. Not a single complaint about these three. I'm sure I have defensive holes and fucked it up somewhere with this lineup but only the umbreon seems to fall behind in any fight.

I tried using slugma/Mcargo my last SS run and it was the biggest piece of trash ever. I couldnt get past bugsy with it. I wanted to beat bugsy with it but that scyther destroyed the little shit each and every single time. Ended up using a recently caught spearow.

Um, I think he was just using pryce's gym as a comparative bench mark rather than blaming a type disadvantage for victrebell sucking.

It's not like grass types are good in gen 2 AT ALL anywyas. They have a huge disadvantage against most gyms and elite 4 members, and out of all gym leaders and elite 4 members' pokemon, the only ones that grass has an advantage over is chuck's poliwrath, and that slowbro in the e4

My Flygon sucked ass in W2, dig and rock slide don't do much out of his 100 base attack and he doesn't learn anything with more than 60 bp until lvl 55.
Post game he is boss after level 55 when he learns dragon claw and you get the earthquake TM, but fuck, he sucks during the main story.
