Does Golbat still evolve by friendship in Emerald 386? The woman in Verdanturf is giving me the max friendship message, but he's still not evolving...

You have to increase his happiness THEN level up one level. If he does not evolves, that means you don't have the minimun happines yet, so repeat process.

I visited the lady once again. I showed Golbat and she said: "It adores you. It can't possibly love you any more. I even feel happy seeing it."
So I took him from lv 36 to 37 without fainting once, and he still didn' evolve... what the fuck? did the guy chage his evolution method?

If you're playing a ROM hack, then this is probably a bug. I think that there's not you can do about it.
