>>12122015Well yeah, if you like recycled/irritating characters, non-existent group dynamics, abysmal rivals sans Paul (who wasn't as great compared to Kanto-era Gary), and inconsistent pacing, then I'd imagine it's a shoo-in for best saga in the series. Dawn went from being somewhat interesting at first, to being the hypothetical answer to the question "what if we took away most of May's redeeming qualities and gave her shit rivals?", while Brock went from being uncommonly showcased to fading to absolute fucking obscurity.
The only thing it did better than the past two series was Hunter J and the villain team, which they gracefully shoehorned into the nearly year long break between the seventh and eighth badge. Seriously, anybody who says that mid-Johto had bad pacing needs to go watch through late Sinnoh. The league was also decent, but the deus ex legendary trainer at the end ruined what little momentum it had.
