Pelipper.
I remember when I played Platinum, I was in Distortion world and had saved in front of Cyrus. My Pokemon were ~40, but none of them could defeat Cyrus' Houndoom, never mind his whole team (~45)
Then I used Pelipper, which was my HM slave ~35. It survived Dark Pulse with no big damage and proceeded to rape Cyrus' WHOLE TEAM.

Chose as a starter as I planned on boxing it, trained it up a little as I searched for a few decent Pokemon to build my team up with, grew to like it, especially when it evolved to Dewott

It was a mono-grass run the first time I played White.

This one was like one of the only grass types I could find.

Then it turned into SAWSBUCK.

This guy, in HeartGold. Caught as a low-level Magnemite for some random electric support. Suddenly remembered how amazing TWave is. Evolved to Magneton and took him through the whole game, beating Red and using him to help catch all the legendaries. Just got him traded over to BW2 now and evolved into Magnezone. Bros4lyf
