This picture. It fills me with longing, mystery, and adventure...and inspiration to write a poem.
While journeying with stalwart stride
And my companion by my side,
Around me spanned the meadowland:
The moor and heath fields sprawling wide.
We set up camp, for night came soon,
While flocks of Pokémon in June
In merry throngs echoed their songs
In midnight choir under the moon.
But as she rustled when I woke,
The heavens flashed with growling smoke,
The sun hung low; its early glow
Was brightened red as morning broke.
A radiant being in midflight
Whose brilliant burst of hue and light
Rocked all the trees, and like the breeze,
It passed and vanished out of sight.
And as it passed, the air grew chill
And gusts sighed on with rippling trill,
While we sat there with longing stare
Upon the long and distant hill.
To yon horizon dwells so free
That fiery bird of mystery?
Day, dusk, or dawn, we muster on
For who can tell of what we’ll see?
