They are, except they gave them a cel-shaded look instead of making them all super shiny.

I'd rather have cel-shading than supershiny

With supershiny, everything looks more fake than cel-shading

Right.
Which I'm fine with, really.
I mean the 3D models are pretty solid shape wise, but the texture is the bad part.
Just a bit of editing and they can make them really great.

I definitively like the cel-shaded look a lot more. The Pokédex 3D Pro one looks like its made of plastic.
