My point is that they went out of their way to give the gender of ONE of his Pokemon, the unevolved Eevee, making a possible hint that it's a pre-requisite for Sylveon. The problem I have with the sylph example is that nymph has very little to do with the air exclusivity that sylph implies. Fee and sylvan don't completely go against the idea of being female. Also note that Kangaskhan and Mandibuzz also have very female hinting names in one language while the other languages don't.
