I was perusing through Twitch tv and saw someone streaming Pokemon(It was Gold version btw) and I realized I've never really played through an entire Pokemon game. I owned Red and Blue as a kid but never finished them or played another Pokemon game since.

Watching it was pretty enjoyable and I'd like to pick the series up.

Do I start from the originals? Should I actually buy the games? Or is emulation just as rewarding?
