Pokemon who would logically have the type, such as Magnemite, received a secondary typing.
Some were evo'd into Steel/Dark (Steelix/Umbreon).
The likelihood of a Pokemon's typing being completely scrapped and redone is slim to none.
Actually, due to the possibility of migration from V to VI, the change in typing of any Pokemon is improbable.
An evo into Fairy or whatever is possible though (if it exists).
And, if you believe in tradition, Sylveon would probably be Fairy.
