You just take it out of one DS' slot and put it into another one. Being able to transfer my save files to PCs, other cartridges or any other storage medium is merely an additional feature. One Nintendo's products do not offer.
It's also nice to be able to store all of your game files and save files wherever you want. Nintendo's concept of restricting people to a single game with a limited number of save files per cartridge for no good reason is something I am simply not willing to put up with.
