Whenever one of my pokemon faints I whisper "You did an awesome job" or "You'll get 'em next time". And I occasionally whisper words of confidence whenever we get ready for a battle.

Whenever I receive damage in an important battle I do the following:

I give all my protagonists special names and because of this I can't transfer any pokemon from the older games to the newer ones because I'm afraid that one day my little guy will go to the PC and wonder where all of his friends have gone.
And he'll never know what happened and go his entire life wondering what happened to the friends he went on a huge journey with.

I consider the feelings of my pokemon when picking my team. I won't put any big scary pokemon on a team with any babies/cute pokemon because the babies might get scared. I won't store them in the same PC box for the same reason - I try to put the pokemon in the PC box with a matching background, so grass/bug pokemon in the leafy yard looking box, etc.

... Am I the only one mimicking the flow of a move with the stylus on the bottom screen? Or, in gen 3 and prior, with the D-pad? I don't know why I do it, but I do it with absolutely every move. I refused to catch female pokemon until gen 5 because as a kid I was told males were stronger in gen 2(technically this is right, male and female are determined by IVs in gen 2, male=attack, female=defence).

That hasn't happened yet. Once the DSM 5 comes out, that will happen. Since psychologist are using DSM-VI-TR still, Asperger's is still a legitimate diagnosis.

Of course, this only concerns America, as we are the only people still using the DSM.

I always save in the middle of the pokéball drawn on the floor of a pokécenter (gens where this isn't possible frustrate me to no end).

Once I've finished the storyline and visited all locations, I choose a town or city to become my base of operations. Whenever I'm not playing, my avatar remains in the pokécenter of said location. So far it's been Celadon, Goldenrod, Fortree, Pyrite, Sunyshore and Nimbasa.

I HAVE to organize my PC by habitat. Ever since FR/LG. I always imagine that a PC box is like The Matrix: a virtual world designed to be the ideal habitat for the pokemon it contains. If you put a non-ocean dwelling pokemon in a box with the seafloor background, they'll drown in the PC. If you put a non-flying/levitating pokemon in the sky box, they'll keep falling forever.

I can't be the only one who does this.

Different anon here. I personally payed attention to the gender of the Pokemon that I used. When I played Diamond and chose Turtwig, I never noticed it was a girl until my friend pointed it out when I had it in my Black version. He also told me that there was only a like 13% rate for getting a female. Which I think is neat

Since then, I find I imagine my Torterra as a strong supportive "Big Momma" type of character.

And I lover her.

I catch every single Pokemon with a regular Poke Ball. Even the Legendaries.
I reset the game if I get a legendary with a bad nature, even though I never use Legendary Pokemon

When I level grinding I strap whatever exp item I'm using on to my pokemon and then battle until it faints. If it runs out of PP first I keep on battling forcing it to struggle in pain to defeat more and more wild pokemon. Once the first pokemon struggles itself into a coma I take off the item, give it to the next pokemon in line and repeat the process until I only have one left. I believe that by pushing my team to the very limits in training, they will become stronger, more durable, and much more dangerous in battle.

I nickname every pokemon i catch and give them names appropriate to whatever they and their evolutions are based off of and If the pokemon is based off of a mythological creature, i read whatever information i can find about the myth behind it.
I do this to every single pokemon, even if i catch it for breeding or just to fill pokedex.
I have done this since gen 2 and back then i didn't have internet access at home so i had to go to the local library to search for information.
Examples would be Alakazam named Harry, Froslass named Yukihime or Mismagus named Morgana.
As for pokemon based off of inanimate objects, i name them after brands related to said objects. Now i wait for a furniture pokemon to name Ikea.

I try to make sure to have both male and female on my team, and I feel really bad if I happen to have just one male or female. I imagine that one pokemon would feel left out.

I've recently started nicknaming all pokemon. Sometimes, the nicknames are derpy, but I feel like it gives them character. Example, Gigi the female Gigalith.

Also, I always name Pidgeys Ziedo since I was like 8. If I ever catch a Mareep and plan on using it, I name it Amphy and pretend the Ampharos in the lighthouse is an old, retired version of my Amphy.

Speaking of bikes, in Hoenn I HAD to make it all the way to the end of Seaside Cycling Road, with the mach bike and without running into anything. If I didn't accomplish this at least once I wouldn't battle the Elite 4 until I did.

My Pokemon have to have natures that I think suit them.

I have sat and reset the game over and over and over again, up to four hours, trying to get a nature I like for starters and Pokemon that are given to you in-game.

I'll also spend days trying to capture Pokemon with the "correct" nature until my team is all perfect.

If that's not autist, I don't know what is.
