The best example of stats =/= usage would be Smeargle. It has a pathetic BST of 250, yet it was BL in Gen 3, and OU in Gen 4 because of its movepool making it a valuable asset to Baton Pass teams.

BoltBlizzard + Life Orb + Rock Polish

Galvantula only has 97 Sp.ATK, and it performs very well as a hard hitting special attacker.

Tri attack is only good on PZ, I always run BoltBeam. But why would you run dual status if you need Recover? Also Thunder Wave is generally a better option than Toxic because it has better synergy with Ice Beam since only ground types and Hitmonlee are immune to twave, and you can hit those ground types for SE or at least neutral (mamo) damage with Ice Beam anyway. I leave toxic for other teammates.

I was looking for news in Serebii and they released Latios' review. I noticed something that I didn't get it; they recomed using Roost. I checked and Smogon says the same thing, but I can't understand why use Roost over Recover. Latios learns Recover naturally, so no waste of shards, and also it's not part flying-type, so Roost will not protect it from Thunderbolts, Ice Beams, etc. AND will leave it vulnerable to Earthquake. Why they recomed Roost? I can't see any advantage over Recover.

use it the way bellyzard worked back in gen 4; bring it in to scare off a BP-locked scizor or something, sub on the switch, belly drum to activate salac berry and max attack, then sweep with fire punch and EQ

I know that not outspeeding max speed 100's at +1 would be bad, but has anyone here ever tried it?

Everything else with moves that assist doesn't use.

Liepard is invincible to everything but priority and steels wall him pretty hard.

That works only with Spikes/Toxic Spikes. Focus Punch/Destiny Bond/Counter are other issues.

But the standard rain teams he beats perfectly. There is nothing whatsoever they can do except try to perish song with Politoed (but you can switch).

Not that I'm aware of, though I've never actually used an assist pokemon. I just know the strategy.

It's basically like Shedinja. A conditionally assured victory against unprepared teams but instead of just sacrificing one slot to make it work you have to sacrifice the entire team.

Gothitelle with fling/flame orb and protect, neither of which are called by assist.

Burnt scizor with constantly draining HP won't be too big a threat.

I don't get it. Shadow Force is just a more powerful, ghost-type Dig, isn't? If it don't OHKO the enemy, it still can hit Liepard back. Or the opponent can switch a normal-type, who is immune to Shadow Force.
How this is so good?

I think that's it, and Earthquake is capable of hitting dig and I think dive.

Machamp and golurk shit all over the set though. No guard completely bypasses the effect of these moves.
