Who said Chansey and the kind would become Fairy type?

In my opinion, a type retcon is quite unlikely to happen.

Imagine a justification in universe: "yeah, do you remember all those pinky Pokémans? it turns they're of a new type, and we didn't discovered it until now"

Magnemite and Magneton were only two Pokémon and their types changed in the generation next to their introduction so it made some sense.

OP here. I'll list out my rationality for all of the traits.
SE against fighting- fighting type is like the furthest you can get from fantastical, making it practically useless against fairies.
SE against dark- pretty self explanatory.
SE against dragon- dragons and fairies are both fantastical creatures. It makes sense to me that they would be opposing forces.
Resists fire- fire is destructive to nature, fairies protect nature.
Resists electric- same as fire.
Resists fighting, dark, dragon- see SE above
Weak to poison- Poison needs to be SE against something and this makes sense in my head.
Weak to steel- fairies are hurt by iron in some folklore and steel is unnatural, being in stark opposition to fairies.
Weak to ghost- just makes sense in my head and boosts ghost offensively, like poison.

I'll also add what would resist Fairy type-
Ghost, Grass, Bug, Steel, Poison

Grass and Bug would resist it because they're also representative of nature and the natural order.

Electric only hits 2 types for SE, it needs a boost.
Also, let me lay something down for ya here.
Target audience for Pokemon: young boys.
Call me crazy, but I think the target audience likes Dragons more.
How do you think they would take it when they see their big powerful dragons are suddenly weak to something that sounds as retarded as fairy?

So by that logic would Dragon be super effective towards Fairies as well? If the idea behind why it's strong against Dragon is because they're both opposing forces then both side are strong toward each others.
