What was your first?

Mine was Charmander. Although I thought Blastoise was the coolest final form one.

My first run through of the game I was too lazy to catch all the pokemon and I would escape. I was more concentrated on beating all the gym bosses. I leveled up all my main 6 before fighting the Gym bosses though. I had a few close calls with my rival the first few times.

Totodile. He was named Coco. I didn't understand anything of english but I was so damn happy that my parents would finally let me get a video game. I got gen 2 super late, on a GBA. I didn't skip gen 1 as my friend gave Red to me some months after. I got a charmander then.

Charmander, my sister always got Squirtle.

Part of me always wanted to get Bulbasaur, but alas it never happened. Treecko is a pretty cool grass starter though, I plan on running through Ruby soon with him.

I picked Charmander for like 5 seconds and immediately regretted it, restarted my game, and got a Bulbasaur instead. I still think Venusaur is my favorite starter to this day, all nostalgia aside. He's just this big, bulky bastard and he's awesome.

I always chose Squirtle in Gen I games, but there was something about Charizard I liked in the end of things.

I never liked anything about Bulbasaur and it's evolution line. Never used one until FireRed came out.

Always hated Charmander for some reason

I guess its because I liked the color Blue and hated red.

So I chose Squirtle of course. Then I ended up using a Bulbasaur when Leaf green came out.
I have a Charizard in BW2 that I used once but otherwise thats it

Charmeleon is the shit in gen1.
You pretty much are 15.5/16 when you get to brock. Lv 16 Charmeleon rapes brock. And a few potions rapes misty (assuming you went and did all the shit by Bill's first). Then it's clear fucking sailing all the way to the elite 4.
