My latest chapter is at 3600 words. It ended up this way because I had a plot device i had promised myself to use by the end of this chapter and I had too much story to tell and explaining to do. It's much too long for a chapter and probably makes my readers think I've disappeared. It also makes it hard to work on it when you know you have a lot of work left on it. Breaking it up into smaller chapters helps me concentrate and stay motivated.

Chapter 1 of Hands Down is a bit over 9k, which is the longest I've written.
The epilogue might surpass that though because I'm going to have a lot of ground to cover in it.

13,000 words. It was a mish-mash of drama and a complicated battle. Typical chapters were 3,000 words long, with major battles rounding out to ~10,000. Recently though I've wanted to try more consistent 10k for all chapters, in order to give readers a "full course meal" so to speak. The impetus was Shonen Jump's magna pissing me off with 21 page updates, and 3-5 of those pages were artwork or credits.

Nearly every fic idea I've ever come up with I end up subconsciously convincing myself that it's shit, so I never finish anything without forcing myself to and getting something I clearly didn't try on. Though everything I write is pretty much just one-shot short stories anyway. The exception is smut, because then my dick overrides my subconscious to some extent.

Out of nowhere update coming in.

The Wobbunoir special will most likely be the next CYOA I work on after my current one.

I am also considering a "mid-life crisis" Nate & Rosa special to help tie up all the loose ends that I intentionally made vague. But nothing's concrete about that yet.

Two ways to go about this:

1) Pokemon don't have conventional genitalia (for non-smut stories obviously). If this is the case then rather than an alimentary canal, they would have a gastrovascular cavity, and completely digest every poffin and berry they eat (or possibly throw it up once they've digested all they could).

2) Pokemon DO have conventional genitalia, in which case they excrete like any other animal would.
