When its zero the pokemon is knocked out like it has 200% rather then what its at
lets say for sake of arguement a squirtle with 40% but has zero stamina its pretty much got 170
which you will have to switch and usually lets the opponent to get a good hit.
you can tell if theyre out by if the Pokemon is panting and tired when they stop moving
