You wanna know the one thing I can't fucking stand about this realistic rendition of Flygon and it's prevos? It's that Trapinch is portrayed as a lizard...

There are other artists that do it better. This guy just feels that you can't draw a realistic pokemon that doesn't look like an existing animal.

The Flygon line is just fucked, design-wise. So it's an antlion, but it's not a bug? Okay. Then suddenly it becomes a dragonfly. But still no bug type. Then it becomes this fucking half-liger half yiff dragon with Digimon goggles. Just...gah, Hoenn, pls.

It bugs me that lapras isn't Ice/Water/Dragon triple type, but I don't complain.
Design and inspiration is more important than a list of numbers and functions to me.

He draws dinosaurs and reptilian shit. His entire fucking gallery is filled with that shit, even well before he started drawing the realistic Pokemon stuff out of popular requests.

It's not surprising he'd approach Flygon less from an insect perspective and more from a reptilian/dragon one. He interpreted Scyther of all things as a type of dinosaur.
