Why does anyone thing that Charizard should be fire/dragon? I understand that he looks like a dragon, but consider this:

He is a starter, and in gen 1 dragon types were rare and powerful. Why would your first pokemon be the strongest type? Unless the charizard line was encountered late in the game, it wouldn't make sense.

Can people stop saying Flareon needs Flare Blitz? Even with Blitz, its still a shitty Arcanine and an even shittier Darmanitan. If Flareon EVER wants to be useful, he needs moves neither of them have. Guts is a good ability, but the fucker is too slow and his bulk is in all the wrong places, not to mention fire types make the shittiest defensive walls 99% of the time. Flareon will NEVER be a good pokemon unless they give him some completely amazing ability or rearrange his stats so his special defense replaces his abysmal speed. Until then, he's fucked.

True enough but in game time is mostly spent on land, so the most encounters are with bug. That does change from game to game, but it is a solid fact that water has the greatest population.
