Because it obviously does make a difference which emulator you use. I wasn't even aware anyone used no$anything anymore after Desmume came out.

Try this, OP, it's from the Nuzlocke Generals, and nobody had problems when patching HG/SS with the thing linked here. Also be sure that you use the latest version of DeSmuME JIT.
