You could register dozens of teams, trade/store your GB Pokemon, play minigames with them, play the GB games on your television, etc. Colosseum and PBR were stripped of all these awesome aspects and offered very little depth beyond registering a single team at a time and then battling with it (but at least Colosseum had a passable single-player mode to make up for it.)
