Plain Isopropyl Alcohol(50% or higher)
Q-Tips/Cotton Swabs
Open with screw driver, dab q-tip in alcohol, rub corrosion/whatever that shit is with q-tip.
Might take a few, but it should come off relatively easily.
While you have it open, you should clean the contacts the same way. If they're really funky, a rub with a normal pencil eraser(and then q-tip+alcohol to clean the eraser bits away) can help as well.
