There should be a new weather condition called Night Time instead. During Night Time:

>dark and ghost type moves do double damage
>dark ang ghost types gain +2 evasion
>pursuit always does full damage
>sucker punch always works
>moonlight heals 100% HP
>dark pulse always makes the target flinch
>night slash has a 100% critical hit ratio

The same reason why electric is super effective on water. If things are wet, they should be get electrocuted more.
