>>12186309Why not? There are many different types of fans of Pokemon. Some continue to only care about the first two gens because that's likely what you grew up with, others only know the later gens, and then there are others who still love the entire franchise and see nothing wrong with anything after gen II.
I myself fall into the final category. I started long ago with Red/Blue, and it was at that point in which I found myself loving the games. Each new generation that came out was something that filled me with glee, for the chance to see more in the series as well as more Pokemon added to the franchise.
The only thing 'wrong' with Pokemon is when someone is incapable of moving beyond certain points they are comfortable with. The series has evolved beyond what it was back in the days. The battle mechanics have been added to. Abilities, special split, physical/special split, various mechanics tweaks... it has added a little bit more flair.
>>12186326But what is rehashed? Are you talking about the Pokemon that share a certain animal species? Then if so, what is wrong with that? In real life, there are many different types of species that have various members, and the games reflect that. Certain Pokemon share similar species, yes, but the Pokemon are different. They have their own niches and places to fill. The only real rehashes you could honestly consider are the genie trio, since they look really similar to each other.
The quality has also improved, but it's opinion on whether it is better. Reasoning for this is because the majority of older Pokemon were restricted by the less than capable hardware capabilities of the Gameboy and Gameboy Color. As such, most of them were simple in design.
With newer hardware, Pokemon were able to incorporate more and more detail, no longer having to be confined to general simplicity. The quality has improved. You just don't like it.
